Pick-up
Your guide collects you from the place of your choice, in Bordeaux or nearby. Arcachon Bay is about an hour's drive.
The Dune du Pilat
Climb Europe's tallest sand dune: the ocean on one side, the Landes forest on the other.
Pinasse boat trip
On the bay's traditional boat, past oyster villages and beaches, to the Île aux Oiseaux and its houses on stilts.
Oyster tasting
Arcachon oysters, tasted at a producer's or on the harbour.
Lunch
A gourmet picnic, included. You can also choose a restaurant, at your own expense.
Arcachon
A walk through the Ville d'Hiver and its 19th-century villas, then the seafront.
Return
Drop-off at your pick-up place at the end of the day.

What you will discover
The Dune du Pilat
Europe's tallest sand dune, between the ocean and the forest. The view from the top takes in the Banc d'Arguin and the mouth of the bay.
The bay by pinasse
The pinasse is the oyster farmers' traditional boat. It lets you get close to the Île aux Oiseaux and its stilt houses.
Arcachon oysters
The bay is one of France's great oyster-farming areas. You taste them right where they are grown.
The Ville d'Hiver
A district of 19th-century villas, built for winter stays, with shaded streets climbing towards the forest.

How long is the day?

Is climbing the dune hard?
The climb is on foot, up a staircase in season or through the sand. Tell us in the form if someone in the group has difficulty walking: your guide adapts the day.
Is lunch included?
Yes, a gourmet picnic is included. If you prefer a restaurant, that is possible, at your own expense.
Where is the pick-up?
At the place of your choice: hotel, apartment, station, in Bordeaux or nearby. Drop-off is at the same place, or at another address if you tell us.
Can more than 8 people come?
Yes. Up to 8 guests, your guide drives you in their van. Beyond that, we add chauffeur-driven vehicles for the rest of the group.
